Young Woman of Tomorrow: Macie Vinaras
Macie has been learning to weld broken metals and create new projects in her skills training classes. The Mercy Home Shelter has broken down bed frames! Both queen and twin sizes are needed. Queen and twin frames with storage underneath are ideal and cost the same amount of $76 at Walmart. Consider a donation of any amount towards new bed frames.
From Malmstrom Air Force Base: Staff Sgt Greyson-Ann Thornburg
We turned away 186 women and children last year! That is only slightly less than the number of people we did serve! We take care of everyone that comes to us. We offer water, snacks, and community resource information to all of them. We also assess their danger level to see if they need to go to alternative housing options. We have paid for motel rooms, put families in the YWCA basement where the quarantine room is set up, and helped families in other ways to keep them safe. These supplies to give water and snacks is much appreciated (especially by the children). It costs us $100/month to keep our snacks stocked. Will you contribute to keep our community a little kinder?
From Paris Gibson Education Center: Jordann Lankford Forster
The Mercy Home Shelter for women and children last year served over 137% more women and children than in the previous year. That means that the wear and tear on furniture and the facilities has increased. We need to keep the Mercy Home in good condition to be able to serve our survivors. Paint, screens, locks, etc. have cost us $600.00 so far this year. Can you contribute to the Mercy Home?
From Great Falls Public Library: Susie McIntyre
Susie has been a champion for the people in our community for the past twenty years or more. She has been instrumental in the Juneteenth Celebration for the past two years. It is a wonderful celebration for the whole community to embrace our black community members, learn from their history, and celebrate their gifts to our community! It was a grass-roots event last year and the best in Montana! We have a need for funding for food and games. Please consider donating to support this racial equity celebration.
From Tribal Relations: Kqyn Kuka Maguire
Kqyn is a new Mother! She has been preparing for months for this little person. We have babies and pregnant women in the Mercy Home Shelter. We have a need for two Pack-N-Play baby bed/changing table/play pens. They allow us to easily convert a room from a double to a family room with a baby. They cost $90 each at Target. We also need wipes, newborn items, formula, diapers, etc. If you can donate it will help us by making their lives much easier!
